The new Dominican airline, Air Dominicana, was forced to postpone its inaugural flight set for May 2nd after “technical faults” with its sole aircraft.
The 148 seat Boeing 737-300 was due to fly from Spain to Fortaleza, Brazil and then on to Santo Domingo, but was forced to stop at the Spanish island, Sal when the problem was detected.
Air Dominicana’s, Juan Muñoz said the airplane would now be sent to Miami, where it would undergo “rigorous technical evaluations.” He indicated that the inaugural flight would now take place around the 14th of this month.
