Claro-Codetel have apologised to customers after technical problems led to thousands of customers unable to make any calls over a 5 day period, 19-23 May.
“Telephone Blackouts” affected its Claro mobile services, “Control” and “Habla Claro” (‘Speak Clearly’) due to problems with Claro’s GSM network.
Claro Marketing and Communications Director, Gerty Valerio released a press release last week announcing that Claro would give free minutes in compensation to all customers affected. Valerio indicated that between 30 and 100 minutes would be issued to customers depending on the duration of the inconvenience estimated by Claro.
Valerio also used the press release for positive publicity, saying, "Through this measure, the company shows that it is sensitive to its customers, while reaffirming its commitment to offer the best signal and the most comprehensive mobile coverage."
