Police break up Austrian drug laced postcards network
The Casa Linda residential urbanization in Sosua was uncovered as the unlikely center of an international drugs ring, when the National Drugs Control (DNCD) last week arrested two residents.
Austrian born, Agustin Alexander Jürcen, who used the name of Saidi Achmadov, and Seobanya Laszlo, formerly from Hungary had been using their rented house, number eight in Calle Central to package cocaine, which they then sent by international courier to Vienna in envelopes along with a postcard.
Apparently, the pair had been sending out envelopes, each containing 40 grams of cocaine since mid September.
In their ‘home’ laboratory, police found pure cocaine and tools used for manipulating the illegal substance.
It seems the secretive duo had hoped to keep the drug mailing operation a low key affair, but a member of staff from the courier company uncovered their secret when they misaddressed one of the envelopes.
