FIRST MUNICIPAL GAMES IN PUERTO PLATA

Dominican Sports Secretary Felipe Payano attended the opening ceremony of the Provincial Games held at the Fabio Rafael González sports hall in Puerto Plata last week.
The games are expected to draw over 1300 athletes from 16 disciplines to compete.
The ceremony began with the parade of athletes from Imbert, Altamira, Sosua, Montellano, Puerto Plata and Isabela.

Also attending the event were Mayor Walter Musa, sub-secretary of Sports, Professor Teruel, president of the Puerto Plata sports union, Juan Luís Medina, the leader of Puerto Plata sports council, Mr Ney Serrata, Dr. William Nunez Grano de Oro, president of the Puerto Plata Basketball Association (ABAPLATA) and Jose de los Santos, Governor of Puerto Plata.
