The Attorney Generals Office has ordered an increase in fines for traffic offences. Drivers of motorbikes/passolas, light and heavy vehicles that run red lights, caught driving while intoxicated or driving on the opposite side of the road will now pay fines of RD$1000 to RD$1600
The Attorney General indicated that the exact fines will be determined by the court in the jurisdiction where they were arrested.
